I stood in front of about 30 young black South African men.

The prison yard was dusty and hot from the Spring sunshine.

I'd been sick all night from a bug picked up in the water.

I'd asked the lads about what made them feel in the zone, I needed something deeper.

"What makes us the same?" I said.
