You're Not Dumb
You're just comparing yourself to the wrong image
āComparison is the thief of joy.ā Theodore Roosevelt
I don't know about you Reader but I have a habit of comparing myself to others.
Itās not obvious.
Itās not deliberate.
Itās a sneaky insecurity that flavours my life.
I think Iām the dumb one, the less attractive one, the quirky one.
I think they know more than me. They have more friends than me.
Itās a quiet sliver of deadly doubt.
It crept up on me again while I was creating my new course on attracting clients - like an unwanted visitor, a bad penny, a reminder to stay humble.
Do you know what I mean?
Maybe it was useful once.
Maybe it made you feel safe.
Maybe it was the unwanted gift from your parents.
It matters not where it came from; it just matters that its residue never leaves.
The good news?
You donāt have to get rid of it.
You donāt have to exercise it.
You donāt have to find ways around it.
You just have to keep noticing it, getting over it and realising that itās not helping you and then letting it go.
Notice that youāre comparing your inside to whatās on the othersā outside.
What comparison is holding you back?
